Prices refresh hourly from the order system; stock is on the pricing page. OpenAI no longer publishes multiples: its Help Center only says Pro 200 includes more usage than Pro 100 and Pro 500 the most, so the multiples above come from press reports, and the per-unit row simply divides today's price by them. Pro tiers currently have no five-hour limit in Codex (weekly limits still apply).
Plus: the feature-complete entry tier
OpenAI's pricing page lists Plus ($20) with GPT-6 Astra and GPT-5.6 reasoning, expanded Deep Research, Projects, scheduled tasks, custom GPTs, expanded Codex usage and ChatGPT Work. What it lacks is the Pro layer: Pro reasoning with GPT-6 Pro, a Dot, and the Pro-level allowances. For most individuals Plus is the right first account, and if your own account is on Free, a Plus top-up keeps your account and history, which a ready-made account can't. The ready-made Plus is for people whose card is declined, whose country isn't supported, or who don't want to submit their own sign-in data.
Pro 100 (formerly Pro 5x): the working tier
Pro 100 ($100) adds Pro reasoning on GPT-6 Astra, longer Codex and ChatGPT Work sessions, a Dot (the always-on agent OpenAI announced at DevDay on 29 September) and maximum Deep Research and memory. In mid-September OpenAI still called it 5× Plus; it no longer publishes a multiple. It is the tier for people who hit Plus limits every week, and every Pro feature is already here; the higher tiers add allowance (and, on Pro 500, Ultrafast).
Pro 200 (formerly Pro 20x): more allowance, new terms since 30 September
Same features as Pro 100, more allowance. From 10 to 30 September 2026 OpenAI paused new subscriptions and upgrades to the $200 plan, and a ready-made account was the only way in for new buyers. On 30 September it reopened as Pro 200, still $200 a month, but new subscriptions get a lower allowance than before. OpenAI gives no number; Engadget reports about 10× Plus in Codex and Work (it was about 20×) and a weekly GPT-6 Pro cap in chat of 100 instead of 200. A Pro 200 that was active at OpenAI's eligibility cutoff or in the seven days before it keeps the previous allowance through 29 October 2026 while it stays active. So plan on the new allowance, whether you buy a ready-made Pro 200 account or top up your own. The pricing page also lists a limited ready-made account still on the previous 20x allowance; per OpenAI that allowance lasts through 29 October 2026 while the subscription stays active.
Pro 500: the most allowance, and the only tier with Ultrafast
New at DevDay on 29 September, $500 a month. Pro 500 has the highest allowance of the Pro tiers (reported at about 25× Plus, citing OpenAI) and Ultrafast, the high-speed mode of GPT-6 Astra, reported at up to about 300 tokens per second in Codex and Work. Only Pro 500 has it, and buying credits on Pro 100 or Pro 200 does not unlock it. Ultrafast uses the included allowance 8× as fast as Standard mode, so switch it on for time-critical steps. At OpenAI's prices Pro 200 and Pro 500 both work out at about $20 per Plus-equivalent on the reported multiples: the extra buys speed and headroom, not a bulk discount. Two things to know before choosing
- A ready-made account is a second account. Your old account keeps its history; you can bind your own email to the new one. Change the password on arrival and use it as one person. How to carry your data across is in Switching accounts and keeping your data.
- Every tier can also go on your own account. Since OpenAI reopened the $200 plan on 30 September 2026, our Pro 100, Pro 200 and Pro 500 top-ups work on Free, Plus and Pro accounts, for new subscriptions, renewals and upgrades, usually in 5–30 minutes. If keeping your account and history matters, that is the simpler route.
