Who needs which plan

If this sounds like youPlanWhy
You chat, write and analyse every day and wait for a reset once a week or lessProAll the features, including Claude Code and Research; Max would only add usage you don’t use
You use Claude Code for a few focused sessions a dayPro, then seeWatch Settings → Usage for two weeks; Anthropic suggests Max 5x if you consistently hit limits
Pro’s five-hour limit stops you several times a weekMax 5x5x Pro’s usage per session; usually cheaper than paying for the overflow every week
You want Fable 5 / 5.1 regularlyMax 5x or 20xOn Pro, Fable is paid per use from the first message; on Max it is inside the plan, up to 50% of the weekly limit
You also build on the Claude APIMax 5x or 20x$100 or $200 a month in Claude Platform credits; Pro has none
Claude Code or agents run most of the day, and Max 5x runs dry every weekMax 20x20x Pro per session; on the list prices it costs half as much per unit as Max 5x

The deciding question is not features but how often you wait. If you are already sure you need Max and are choosing between the two tiers, go straight to Claude Max 5x vs 20x.

Everything in the middle of that table is the same on all three plans. Anthropic’s pricing page also notes that Claude Cowork is now part of Claude itself, rolling out to Pro and Max, so it is not a reason to pick one over the other either. Full price workings, per day and per three months, are in the Claude price list for October 2026.

Usage limits: the five-hour window and the weekly cap

Claude on the web, desktop and mobile and Claude Code all draw from one pool. It refills on a rolling five-hour session window, and every paid plan has a weekly limit on top that resets at a fixed time assigned to your account, whatever day you subscribed. Pro gives at least 5 times Free’s usage per session, Max 5x five times Pro’s, Max 20x twenty times. There is no fixed message count: long conversations, big files, Opus and Fable all use the allowance faster.

So the honest test is your own Settings → Usage. Two weeks of reading it tells you more than any table: if the session bar fills before lunch most days, or the weekly bar is empty by Thursday, Pro is too small. When you do hit a wall, your options and the break-even math are in Claude usage limit reached? What to do.

Claude Code on Pro vs Max

Claude Code is included on every paid plan, in the terminal and in IDEs, and defaults to Opus 5.5 on Pro and Max alike, so the model you get is the same; only the room differs. Two details are worth knowing. First, a new wrap-up allowance lets Claude Code finish the step it is on when you hit the five-hour limit mid-response (“Usage limit reached · wrapping up”); on Pro this happens at most once per weekly period, on Max at every five-hour limit, and it is still rolling out. Second, Anthropic’s own help article spells out the upgrade path: Pro users who consistently hit limits and need capacity for larger repositories should consider Max 5x, and Max 5x users who keep hitting limits, Max 20x.

One trap on every plan: if an ANTHROPIC_API_KEY environment variable is set, Claude Code bills the API instead of your subscription. Log in with your Claude account and keep that variable unset if you want to stay inside the plan.

Fable and API credits: the two things only Max includes

Fable. On Pro, Fable 5 and 5.1 are not part of the plan’s limits at all: they run on pay-as-you-go usage credits from the first message. On Max they are included, up to 50% of the weekly limit, and they use it faster than other models. If you only reach for Fable a few times a month, Pro plus usage credits is cheaper; if you use it daily, that alone can justify Max. Fable 5.1 in Claude Code needs v2.1.255 or later.

API credits. Since October 8, Max 5x includes $100 and Max 20x $200 a month for the Claude Platform (Claude API, Claude Managed Agents, Claude Agent SDK and Playground). They do not work in Claude Code or as extra usage in the apps, and they expire each billing cycle. They are a bonus if you build on the API anyway, not a reason to buy Max if you don’t. How to claim them and what they buy is in Claude Max monthly API credits.

When Pro is enough

  • You rarely see the limit message. Max is almost entirely extra usage; headroom you don’t use is money wasted.
  • You hit the limit a couple of times a month. Turn on usage credits with a monthly cap instead. At Anthropic’s prices Max 5x costs $80 a month more than Pro, so credits win until your overflow costs more than that.
  • You use Fable only occasionally. Pay for it per use on Pro.
  • You don’t touch the API. Max’s monthly credits are worth nothing to you.
  • You want to pay once a year. Only Pro has an annual plan at Anthropic ($17 a month, $200 up front, card only); Max is monthly only. Orders here cover 30 days each.

How to upgrade from Pro to Max

At Anthropic: Settings → Billing → Manage subscription. Upgrades take effect right away and the unused time on Pro is credited, so you don’t pay twice for the same days; moving from annual Pro to monthly Max can leave a credit that is used on future invoices. Downgrades take effect at the end of the billing period, and chats, Projects and files stay whichever plan you are on. If you subscribed through Google Play, an upgrade charges the new plan’s full price and turns the unused value into extra days.

Here, with USDT: a Pro or Max that was paid by bank card, active or lapsed, can take the Max top-up directly and keeps its chats. At today’s prices Pro to Max 5x is 111.78 USDT more a month (list difference: $80) and Max 5x to Max 20x 119.22 USDT more (list: $100). Check the conditions below first.

How to buy Claude Pro or Max with USDT

  1. Pick the plan: On the pricing page choose the Claude Pro, Max 5x or Max 20x top-up and check the price and the account conditions below.
  2. Export your cookie: Sign in to claude.ai on a computer, export the cookies with the Cookie-Editor extension as JSON and paste them into the order form. Paste them only there, never into a chat.
  3. Pay in USDT after the check: The cookie is checked before you pay; if the check fails you pay nothing. Then send exactly the USDT amount shown on TRC20 or BEP20; the amount identifies your order.
  4. Wait for activation: Usually 5–30 minutes on your own account. The cookie is cleared after delivery, you keep your password, chats and Projects.
  5. Confirm the plan: Check the plan in claude.ai Settings; Settings → Usage shows your five-hour and weekly limits and when they reset.

Which top-up your account can take:

  • Pro top-up: the account must be on Free.
  • Max 5x / 20x top-up: the account signs in normally and is not banned; a Free account that has never paid for a plan by card cannot take Max; an active iOS or Android subscription blocks the top-up; card-paid Pro or Max accounts, active or lapsed, can renew or upgrade; brand-new accounts wait 3–15 days for Max 20x.
  • No account, or one that doesn’t qualify: a ready-made account, delivered after you verify an email. Ready-made Max is sold out right now, so until it is restocked the ready-made route is Pro only. Renew a ready-made account by messaging Telegram @ccnb1937 with your order ID, at the top-up price.

Do not keep auto-renewal on at Anthropic or in an app store at the same time, or you may be charged twice. New to USDT? The USDT payment guide covers network, exact amount and confirmation. Prices follow cost, exchange rate and stock; the pricing page is authoritative.

What we guarantee, and what we cannot

  • Checked before you pay: a top-up checks your cookie first, and you pay nothing if it fails; the cookie is used once and cleared after delivery.
  • Refund terms are public: if a regional policy change by Anthropic makes the service unavailable, you get a pro-rated refund for the unused days, processed within 1 business day and returned in USDT; bans caused by breaking Anthropic’s usage policies are not refunded. Contact the bottom-right live chat promptly if anything goes wrong.
  • Track record: operating since November 2024, more than 20,000 users served (our own figure).
  • We are not Anthropic, and not an authorized reseller. Anthropic sets the limits and can change them. One person per account. Want to check us first? See Is ClaudeMax legit?
