Why cards fail
Anthropic's Help Center article “Why was my card declined?” lists the causes on their side: issuer restrictions, billing-detail mismatches, unsupported card types, and region checks. The pattern buyers see is simpler: cards from many countries fail regardless of balance, and there is no alternative payment method on anthropic.com. Note that the supported-countries list itself is broad — most of the Middle East, Africa and Asia is on it — so for most readers the problem is the card, not the country.
